Kristeva's Chocolate Anise Bark

Ingredients

1 tsp anise seeds

1/3 C dried cherries

1/3 C dried apricots

1/3 C roasted cashews (or pecans, or pistachios, or any favourite nut)

Other dried fruit or mixed peel, al gusto may be substituted for my favourite mix to make this recipe your own

6 oz bittersweet chocolate

Directions

Step 1

  • Line a baking sheet with tinfoil and chill

Step 2

  • Grind anise

  • Stir dried fruit together

Step 3

  • Melt chocolate in double boiler until smooth, stirring often to avoid scorching chocolate

  • Stir in the anise

  • Stir in half the fruit of choice blend

Step 4

  • Spoon mixture onto the baking sheet

  • Sprinkle with remaining fruit and chill for 30 mins in refrigerator

Once chilled break into pieces and store in airtight container. This makes great Christmas gifts.
