Saskatoons are a staple here in Alberta and we feel both lucky and obligated to share this lush sweet berry with you. Moving to Alberta we embraced this berry that is used in pies, jams and of course in our mead.

NOSE  

Subtlety sweet notes of black cherry, cassis with hints vanilla, milk chocolate, and buttery pound cake

PALATE

Complex and full-bodied flavors of blueberry, ripe cherry, red cassis, and a touch of black pepper. Aged on Hungarian oak gives this mead much lower tannins, releases aromas quicker, and gives higher amounts of buttery lactones on the long velvety finish.

NOTES 

Pair alongside wild game such as duck, venison, grilled BC salmon, and dishes that include roasted beets or wild mushrooms. Also pairs nicely with a charcuterie board and robust creamy cheeses, such as roquefort and delicate cheeses such as chevre.
